At Delta View Habilitation Centre, a musical transformation is underway!
With the help of dedicated volunteers and the support of our Heart For Music program, an unused patch of land is blossoming into a vibrant musical garden - a place where residents can connect with nature and music, sparking connection, creativity, and peace.
A Place to Pause, Play, and Connect
The heart of this new outdoor space is a tenor tree donated by the Heart for Music program. This melodic percussion instrument allows residents to create gentle, resonant tones by tapping its metal leaves - offering a soothing, interactive experience for all musical abilities.

But the garden is much more than the tenor tree. With the recent installation of a paved walkway, gazebo, and irrigation system, volunteers at Delta View have laid the foundation for a welcoming and serene space. Soon, with the help of local donations, they plan to fill the space with flowering plants, greenery, and personalized decor, all chosen with the residents’ tastes in mind.
More Than Just a Garden
We are very proud to support this project as part of a growing movement to bring more music, beauty, and dignity into the daily lives of seniors in care. Heart For Music has long championed access to music programming in care homes across Canada. This garden adds a permanent, outdoor element to that mission.

The Work Continues
With soil in place and the first features installed, the next phase of the project by Delta View will focus on planting, decorating, and inviting residents to help shape the space themselves. From sourcing local plant donations to hand-painted decor, we are excited to witness this garden grow into a reflection of the community it serves.
