Giving Thanks and Bringing Joy - Fall 2022 Report

Happy Fall morning from my home office in Chilliwack, BC! We are so excited to share our Heart for Music Update with you all :)Over the past 4 years, this program has impacted over 2000 elders in 108 Care Homes in BC and across Canada!

Heart for Music Impact:

38,000 hours of music & counting

108 Canadian Facilities

34 Live Music Events

2,000+ seniors

"When you see the focus and concentration of a resident who wanders, when you hear the humming or the toes tapping of a resident with dementia, when you see the highbrow expression of someone listening to their favourite classical or instrumental piece, when you see someone’s whole body wriggling to old time Rock and Roll tunes, or when you hear their favourite comforting music playing at the bedside of a palliative resident, you know that this has made a difference in many people’s lives."

Sponsor a Care Home!

Growing up, I visited my Oma and Opa back at my birthplace in Manitoba. Every Christmas, our Opa would gather his three granddaughters and bring us to the local senior's home, where he would play the guitar with his violinist friend. My sisters and I would sing along to the classic hymns, our voices overpowered by the rich baritone, melody, and harmonies that swirled in the room. These memories and my relationship with both sets of my grandparents have fueled me in this mission of bringing music to Canadian seniors. They are our mothers, grandfathers, and friends and deserve the powerful and personal experience of listening to music.

Won't you join us in giving the gift of music to seniors?

We will leave you with one final testimony from Mill Creek Village:

"Thank you for this incredible donation, it has improved our recreation programming and residents' 1:1 visit with us. We have seen a decrease in behaviors in a couple of the residents we have trialed it with. The new large headphones seem to be incredibly comfortable. We truly appreciate your donation and commitment to benefiting our residents and their quality of life."
